It is  symbolic that fire is gnosis, awakened conciousness and divine conciousness. Our world is not defined by written laws but our perceptions of what our mind, body, spirit perceives through life experience. Many animals cannot see colors, so if our human eye lens was not made as it was, would objects around us have color?  Would we collectively say, it would? All is darkness if it were not for the light of fire from the Sun. Understanding this concept of Individuation is critisized as heretical, but biologically and philosophically it makes sense.  Carl Jung had a firm belief in the collective conciousness that existed all around us.  Our beliefs, the energy we put into them, and our own faith connects to collective currents all around us. When you are at a place of worship and all those congrgated believe in the same divine currents, you will feel a rise in energy. Why in some teachings they say go to church to be fed, the ability to tap into those currents is much greater in a communal setting. Same in magical workings, you can do a spell or ritual alone, but in a coven raise more energy. This is a common teaching in Wicca and other Right hand Path practices. On the Left Hand Path, the same intencity can be felt by working a rite alone. The difference is awakening within a deeper relationship with these divine currents.  As these divine currents are colletive and we experience them on a daily basis in its totality on a subtle level. To bring it to a concious level, this is where the work begins.  Seeing these divine concious aspects of Source Creator as fire, we carry their torch with us into our underworld/unconcious to awaken all of our divine nature. Once fulfilled and we find our individuation, we no longer hold ourselves as a spark of the source. We understand we are the Source Creator having a life experience.  His/her will is our own and we choose how we wish to live in our world carrying the flame of our spirits truth as a torch to illuminate the path for others.  It is in this sacred temple, the flame is lit for those seeking the path of awakening, individuation, and personal ascension.

What is the philosophy behind Covenant of the Sacred Flame?

At Covenant of the Sacred Flame, we believe in empowering individuals to connect with their inner wisdom and create positive change in their lives. We do this by following tenants:

 

  1. One must seek out the divine feminine and masculine within and see it in each other. To respect this divine nature and to seek to learn from each other.
  2. To path work in one’s life with the goal of ascension of the mind, body, and spirit in personal evolution.
  3. To support each member’s work towards their goals and dreams.
  4. To seek out liberation and ascension to one’s highest bliss.  With understanding of the union with source conciousness and the collective conciousness.
  5. To give and act, one creates and activates the divine nature becoming the creator. We must each cultivate this creativity and seek to channel it for the success of the whole.
  6. To be the alchemist, one knows how to find the divine nature in something and bring it to the surface. One must transmute the past and present to propel forward in spirit.
  7. All actions come from a divine creation. All actions should come from a divine intention.
  8. Nobility comes from the heart. To be noble is to see nobility in others. Seek to help others cultivate their nobility.
  9. To share in the wealth of knowledge to each other, honors the knowledge and uplifts the Covenant.
  10. There is no hierarchy in the Covenant only equality in all aspects.
  11. The Covenant does not recognize gender between members. All of what the spirit believes is true in the body, is true to each other. For spirit is formless and and should be respected in the form it wishes to take. 
  12. The Covenant recognizes all spiritual paths flow from the source of creation. Both light and dark, good and evil, all flows from this source. We recognize all Dieties and aspects of this source as sacred in their own way. It is through the fiery gnosis of these aspects that we walk closer with source creation. 
  13. To strive to be the greatest student on ones walk in life. In turn to strive to be the greatest teacher once called to service. 
  14. To be in service to the highest divine self, in honor of its creator, to best be in service as torchbearers.
